Single Review: Frisky Monkey - Together Alone (Feat. Seersha)

Atlanta Synth-pop duo Frisky Monkey is back with their first single of the year, "Together Alone" featuring some vocal talent from fellow Atlanta Synth-pop star Seersha. Over the past few months, Frisky Monkey has been consistently releasing tracks, most of which I've covered here on the site. I've been noticing that Frisky Monkey has been pushing the boundaries of their work over the past year or so, and it's been really fantastic to see. "Together Alone" is a way more slow and contemplative track than Frisky Monkey has done before, creating something that sits comfortably with other tracks in the 'spacewave' microgenre, as well as traditional Synthwave. It's also a much longer track than I've heard before from them, but that's not bad in any degree, I think it works especially well here. As said earlier, this track is really slow and packed with rich, emotional instrumental production as well as the lead vocals from Juan and the heavenly supporting vocals from Seersha. It pulls at the heartstrings, and past the halfway point, it really brings all that emotion to the fore-front, leading to an amazingly satisfying conclusion. This is one of the best tracks I've heard from Frisky Monkey, and I think that whatever they're doing with this and the past few tracks they've made is something really really interesting, and it makes me all the more excited for whatever they have planned next. This track is not to be missed.

Check it out here and consider purchasing it on Bandcamp.
